R&D+i (research, development and innovation)
The reason for i4life comes from solving the needs of people with Parkinson's disease.
We started our business venture with pauto® and with i4park®. Two solutions for people with Parkinson's disease that arise from intensive R&D over many years.
This path of ideation, protection, design, development, validation, and market launch of products remains active.
We like to combine the innovation of our entire business with Research and Development.
R&D Projects
Starting with the idea, the first thing to think about is the value or need we want to propose in our R&D project.
The idea must be innovative, original, and novel and represent an advance in the state of knowledge. It must be interesting and relevant technically and economically.
It must provide a feasible solution to the problem posed, being susceptible to be solved through useful research.
The research must foresee the exploitation, dissemination, and divulgation of the results.
Proyecto "i4robot"
El objetivo del proyecto es la implantación y pilotaje de un robot social en Centro de Día Continental de Gijón.
Se pretende incorporar herramientas de asistencia robótica en el ámbito de los cuidados de larga duración (CLD), utilizando un robot social diseñado para acompañar, interactuar y dinamizar a las personas usuarias.

Airbed is an R&D project that we started at i4life a few months ago. It is an ambitious solution to address a massive problem in hospitals, which is that of hospitalized people who try to escape from bed and, in some cases, suffer falls.
Airbed is composed of a set of sensors and actuators that detect patient restlessness and trigger a safety mechanism. Given the complexity of the system and its validation in a real environment, it has been decided to postpone its execution.
